Why Most Women Fail at Success—and How to Reclaim It

For most of our lives, success is something we inherit rather than consciously choose.

It’s shaped by culture, family expectations, and collective ideals—often without question. Career milestones. Financial stability. Recognition. Legacy. The familiar promise of the “American Dream.”

And yet, during life transitions, many women quietly realize something unsettling:

They’ve done everything “right,” but it doesn’t feel right.

That’s usually the moment when the old definition of success begins to fracture.

External vs personal success

In fact, there is a difference between external and personal achievement.

An external accomplishment is visible. Measurable. Socially reinforced.
Personal success is internal. Felt. Regulating. Stabilising.

The tension between the two is often what creates burnout, self-doubt, or the sense that something is wrong with you—when in truth, something is simply misaligned.

In my studies and lived experience, I’ve noticed that success is not a neutral concept. Some people are inherently wired to engage with it more intensely than others.

For example, certain energetic designs carry success as a core theme. For them, accomplishment is rarely linear. It often includes cycles of rise and fall, visibility and withdrawal, confidence and questioning. Duality is not a flaw—it’s part of the pathway.

Projectors, for instance, are deeply connected to success—but not through constant output. Their challenges often come from trying to succeed in ways that were never designed for them.

Similarly, in numerology, Life Path 8 is associated with power, material mastery, and leadership—but also with profound lessons around control, worth, and balance.

When you understand this about yourself, it doesn’t excuse struggle—it contextualizes it.

Sometimes we create friction by pursuing a definition of attainment that doesn’t truly fit us, even though we may label it as failure.

My personal definition

In my experience, success has very little to do with appearances.

I define it as:

  • An ability to meet life’s challenges with steadiness
  • To stay grounded when things unravel
  • To respond rather than collapse

Ultimately, if I can move through uncertainty with courage, clarity, and emotional regulation—I consider that a huge personal achievement.

From there, everything else is layered in order of importance:

  • A stable, nourishing home environment
  • Meaningful connection with my family
  • My physical, emotional, and mental needs are being met
  • Genuine connection with others
  • And finally, money

Money, in this framework, is not the goal.
It is a resource—one that supports the other areas of life rather than replaces them.

Checklist of personal success areas: emotional wellbeing, relationships, home environment, physical health, and financial support

A self-inventory: redefining your goals

Rather than adopting someone else’s hierarchy, it can be powerful to take a simple inventory.

For instance, you might explore:

  • Emotional regulation and resilience
  • Nervous system stability
  • Physical wellbeing
  • Sense of safety and belonging
  • Quality of relationships
  • Meaningful contribution or purpose
  • Time autonomy
  • Financial support and sustainability
  • Inner peace and self-trust

The weight you give each category will be personal—and it will change over time.

Life transitions often demand a reordering, not an upgrade.

A different orientation to success

When women enter the Success Reset System, they are not trying to become more successful versions of who they already are.

They are learning how to:

  • Release inherited definitions that no longer fit
  • Understand their patterns without judgment
  • Build success from the inside out—through regulation, clarity, and alignment

Achieving goals stops being something to chase.
It becomes something you can stand inside of.
